ACHPER Tasmania is committed to making a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of young Tasmanians and our grants program has been established to support local health and wellbeing initiatives aimed at children and young people.

2011

Huon Valley Mountain Bike Project

The Huon Valley Mountain Bike Cluster Group were awarded with $3,000 to fund the purchase of new bicycles for use within their ongoing project with primary schools within the Huon Valley district. The project aims to provide children with the opportunity to develop their bike handling skills through the teaching of mountain bike specific skills and increase the safety of the children riding within the community through the development of their skills.

2010

Pre Kinder and Kindergarten Perceptual Motor Program

Invermay Primary School implemented a Perceptual Motor Skills Program for their Pre Kinder and Kindergarten children using age and size appropriate equipment.

Womensport and Recreation Tasmania Schoolgirls Breakfast 2010

The Schoolgirls Breakfast is an annual event hosted by Womensport and Recreation Tasmania that aims to introduce elite female athletes to schoolgirls aged between 11 and 17 years. The  purpose of the event is for the athletes to share their experiences, challenged faced and how they overcame these with the schoolgirls.
