Advocacy & Policy Development
Policy Review
ACHPER is currently updating its position statements on issues of concern. This is part of our commitment to the debates on issues pertaining to the delivery of programs that promote and educate about active and healthy living, participation in sport and recreation and further study of our areas of interest.
ACHPER has been urging the Federal Government to include Health and Physical Education (HPE) in its National Curriculum plans. So far a number of subjects have been included in this process and we are keen to get your thoughts on the issue.
ACHPER is seeking a National HPE entitlement for all children and youth in Australia at a time when the arguments to increase curriculum time for mathematics, literacy and science are being pushed. It is very important for us as advocates for the education of the whole child through HPE and to stand up and be heard. Look at the National Statement of Learning that ACHPER’s National Working Group has developed. This will be the basis of further work to develop a shaping paper for the curriculum across every level of schooling. You will be able to Have Your Say.
